"I've got that Holiday Feeling, that Happy Holiday Feeling, It only comes but once a year."
Over the next few weeks, be sure to make time between local and online gift shopping for a little romance. I find the best way to put myself in the 'Spirit of the Season' is to be among the joy of holiday lights, and there is no shortage of the places you can go. Here are my very favorite places in chronological order. They never fail to bring on a smile!

Twinkle Twinkle at the Mart
The shops are open late and you'll find special programming each day through the holidays. Expect family friendly holiday fun including, cookie decorating, live music, cocktails for the parents, hot chocolate, holiday vendors, and much more! Kids decorate gingerbread cookies & make animal clothespin ornaments. Christmas caroling with the Marin Holiday Singers. Holiday Petting Zoo with Pinky the Pony & Friends!
Marinites take their decorating seriously, so even if you aren't interested in leaving the comfort of your home for the chilly destinations I've mentioned above, perhaps you might like to turn the seat warmer on and drive through the wonderful neighborhoods of Larkspur, Corte Madera and Tiburon to see what your neighbors have done to express their Holiday Spirit. Every neighborhood has those special few houses that really do it up for the holidays. So what if the electricity bill skyrockets in December and it takes a whole weekend, if not a whole week, to set it all up? Many have been doing these displays for years, if not decades, gaining a "must-see" reputation in their communities. Lastly, if you want to create some sparkle of your own, I found a solution! A general contractor, Mark Twing created Twinkle Holiday Lighting to help Marin County light up for the Holidays.
Remember to consider both your own preferences as well as your partner's interests when planning your date night. Marin's holiday lights provide a lovely backdrop for creating wonderful memories together. We are truly fortunate, and I feel blessed to be a Marin County Real Estate Agent.
If you'd like to share any events I've omitted, please let us know! We can all agree that living in Marin is an absolute joy. And if you are looking to invest in the beauty and space that only Marin can offer, I can help you find your new home.
